The Sinclair laboratory studies molecular mechanisms and small molecules that slow the pace of aging and age-related diseases. We focus on longevity genes and pharmacological approaches that increase the body's natural defenses against diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer's, infertility, type II diabetes and obesity. We study the contribution of these pathways to the health benefits of a low calorie diet and of exercise. Approaches include biophysics, biochemistry, cell culture, and mouse models.
