Configure OutlookExpress to Read and Send Email on Receptor |

Start OutlookExpress Select Accounts from the Tools Menu |

| Select Add Mail Account from the Mail tab of the Internet Accounts Window | ![]() |

| Enter your name or the name of the account the way you want it displayed on email messages | ![]() |

| Enter your email address | ![]() |

Select IMAP or POP for reading email. Enter receptor.med.harvard.edu as both the Incoming and Outgoing (SMTP) Server |

Enter your username on receptor. If you don't save your password you will be asked for it whenever you start email. Do NOT check "Log on using Secure Password Authentication". Click Next, then Finish to set up your account. |

Select your new receptor account from the list of mail accounts and click Properties In the Server tab make sure the server type and names, and your username are correct. Make sure you did NOT check "Log on using Secure Password Authentication". Turn on "My server requires authentication" for the Outgoing Mail Server Then click the Settings... button

Select the Advanced tab. Turn ON "This server requires a secure connection(SSL)" for both the outgoing and incoming servers Click Apply Then click OK Close the Internet Accounts Window |

| Select the Inbox for your new receptor account and click Send/Receive to read your email. | ![]() |
