Jyothsna VisweswaraiahResearch Interest: SIRT1 deacetylase is emerging as a popular target for drug design to treat aging-related diseases and to produce anti-aging drugs. Small molecule activators of SIRT1 would play a key role not only in treating aging related diseases but also in improving both healthspan and lifespan. Our lab has previously shown evidence for a common mechanism of SIRT1 regulation by allosteric activators. My interests include finding other novel small molecule activators of SIRT1 and elucidating their mechanism of SIRT1 activation.
