Configure Eudora 7. to read IMAP mail

| Select Options from the Eudora Tools Menu | ![]() |
In the Getting Started tab fill in: Your username (mailtest here) receptor.med.harvard.edu as both the Mail Server and the SMTP Server Your email address: Turn on Allow Authentication. Receptor requires authentication.

In the Checking Mail tab make sure the User Name and Mail Host fields are filled in properly. The username is the one you use to log into receptor; the mail host is receptor.med.harvard.edu Set Secure Sockets when Receiving to Required, Alternate Port A Check for Mail interval set to 0 means do not automatically check for mail. If you want Eudora to check for email automatically, a 10 to 15 minute interval is reasonable

In the Incoming Mail tab choose the way you want to receive email:
Downloading minimal headers only leaves attachments on the server until you want to read them. This is useful in dealing with viruses. Authenticate using Passwords.

In the Sending Mail tab make sure that your email address and SMTP Server are specified correctly. Then check Allow Authorization. Do NOT turn on Set Secure Sockets when Sending to Required, STARTTLS |

Click the OK button Quit Eudora and reopen Click Check Mail to connect to receptor |
