Those interested in applying as
Graduate Students should contact the Biological
and Biomedical Sciences (BBS) program at Harvard Medical School. Once accepted
to the Program, students can do rotations in this and other BBS labs; typically,
students pick their thesis labs at the end of the first year or beginning of
the second year of study.
Post-Doctoral fellows and others wishing to join the lab should contact Dr.
Susan Dymecki via e-mail to obtain informaton regarding application procedures.
Two funded postdoctoral positions are immediately available in my lab
in the field of developmental and molecular neuroscience: one funded position
to develop cutting-edge molecular genetic tools for mapping and modulating neuronal
interconnectivity in mice; a second funded position to study genetic programs
underlying the proper anatomical and functional patterning of neuronal assemblies
in the brain stem.
A variety of techniques will be employed including genetically-engineered mice,
site-specific recombinase methodologies, in vivo gene transfer, immunohistochemistry/confocal
microscopy, and genome-wide transcriptional profiling methodologies. More information
can be found on our website at http://genetics.med.harvard.edu/~dymecki/
and from publications such as Neuron 27:475-486; Nature Genetics
35:70-75; and Developmental Cell 6:7-28.
Please send your curriculum vitae, a brief statement of research experience
and interests (1-2 pages), and three letters of reference to:
